Cafe Besalu @ Ballard, Seattle

in Bakery, Cafe / Brunch, Restaurant review, West Seattle

I have to confess I am a total pastry girl. I could live on good pastry and a good latte everyday. If it is not due to the fact that it is a long drive from my place and there is always a long line out the door, Cafe Besalu is one of those bakery that I will visit everyday. It is a small cafe with limited seating. Their menu is also not as extensive as other bakeries but don’t expect any fancy pastries. Almost everyone is there for the basic stuff like croissants and quiches.

We usually order the Pain Au Chocolat. It’s flaky and buttery, just the way a croissant should be!

They are also famous for their quiche. We ordered a Quiche Lorraine. The quiche filling is light and fluffy and the crust is┬áthin enough that you don’t feel┬álike you are eating just pie crust.

The apple galette was also great.

Finishing off with a latte. Love the coffee art but not too crazy about the coffee. Maybe I will have to try a different kind of coffee next time.
