		<description>We were in the Catskills earlier this month and loved all the apples in the roadside markets.  Some varieties we don&#039;t see here in California.  Then again, a lot of our apples come from up your way.  This recipe looks like a great way to put some of these apples to use!

as I&#039;m sure she enjoyed the picking adventure.

for a delicious twist on your apple crisp, make it 
with half apples like macintosh or jonathon;
and then the other half with cherries.

I also make a version with raisins or
dried cherries or cranberries in place of some 
of the apples; and add gingersnaps and chopped
pecans to the streusel topping. absolutely decadent.

it&#039;s a Michigan favorite, as both are the fruits
of Michigan.</description>
