If you have Keebler or Austin brand peanut butter sandwich crackers at home, you need to take note. Apparently Kellogg has pulled these crackers from store shelves because of possible contamination from the salmonella bacteria. Even though Kellogg has not issued any recall yet, they are advising consumers not to eat those products pending further investigation. Aargh!! I happen to have a box in my pantry. I bought it for Lil’ C’s snack. I think i am just going to throw it away. Better safe than sorry!

It is an understatement to say that I have been busy the last few months. Between my new part-time job and Lil’ C’s school & activities, it has been hard to keep up with everything. Cooking, baking and even blogging had been pushed to the back burner for a while. But now with the year winding down and a new year in sight, I am determined to try to get a little more organized for the next year. So now I am making a list of things to be done to make my life a little easier.

Guess what is the first item on my list? It is to get my groceries delivered!! Going grocery shopping can be fun but it can also be really tiring with a 4 year old in tow. Also I end up with a lot of unnecessary grocery that were not on my shopping list. So to save time & money, I am going to do my shopping online with AmazonFresh. I am sure that most of you have shopped at Amazon for books, right but did you know that they have started selling groceries too? Actually they have just started this service and is currently only in the Seattle area. Last week I signed up with them and tried it out.

I ordered it late at night and by the next day, I had these boxes sitting at my front door. Actually I can either order by midnight and they will arrive at my door before 6 am (works great if you run out of milk for breakfast) or I can order 4 hours ahead during the day and have them delivered 4 hours later.

The yellow box contained all the non-chill items while the frozen & chilled items were kept in a thick insulated bag complete with ice pack.

The groceries….

I was really happy with the quality of the groceries. Even the bananas were at the right ripeness. I even managed to include a hairgel together with the groceries. I am definitely going to order from them again. Looks like I can check off the first item off my list. Yay!

I used to work in the technology field before I quit to become a stay at home mom. I do not regret quitting since my priority is to take care of my little girl. Now my little girl is almost 4 and pretty soon she will be going to school full-time. When that happens, I think I might just get back into the workforce again. However since technology is such a fast-paced career, it will be very hard for me to get back into that line. The brain is getting a little slower with age. So it might be a good idea to think about a career change.
Over these few years, I have developed a love for baking. So maybe a baking career is my new career? I would love to open a little café by the beach and just serve delicious pastries and cakes. To get me started on my new career path, I am turning to VistaPrint because first of all, I will need to design a logo for my new business. I will also need to print business cards, letterheads, brochures, flyers, signs and decals. Maybe some magnets and pens with the company logo to be given away will be a good marketing tool. It looks like VistaPrint has all I need to get started. I guess I better start brushing up my baking skill first.

I am off on a cruise to Alaska for the next week.  There will be internet on board but it is very expensive, so I doubt I will be online for the next week. I will be auto-publishing a few bento posts for the next week. Have a great week, everyone!!

Sorry for being missing in action!!! We’re back from our short vacation in Malaysia & Singapore. In between jetlag and exhaustion from the 20 hour flight, both the little one and I are down with a nasty bug!! During the 2 weeks while we were away, almost everyone we knew were struck with the bug, even my husband who normally doesn’t get sick was out of commission for a few days. I was hoping that we would avoid the bug but it seems that we caught the tail-end of it…. sigh……

Sorry I haven’t been answering comments and requests for recipes. I will get back to it slowly as soon as I get my head and body out of this blurry state. If I miss any requests, do email me again. Thanks!!

Sorry for the lack of update this week. For those that requested for recipes, I haven’t forgotten. I will put it up ASAP. Sorry! It’s my little gal’s 1st week of pre-school this week so life has been a little crazy. On a side note, she did very well on the 1st day of school even though this is the first time she’s attending without me Anyway, will be back next week with the overdue recipes and some new ones too.

Sorry for the lack of update. After a trip to Malaysia & a move cross-country, I am still living in a temporary place with all our stuff in storage. I miss my kitchen SO badly!!! Will be back soon.
