Homemade Granola


Don’t you just hate it when there is just a little cereal left in the cereal box and nobody wants it? Those few pieces of cereal will remain in the pantry taking up space for a long time. It drives me crazy because it will be a waste to throw it away, so one day I decided to rummage through the pantry and apparently came up with lots of packages with “just a little leftover”! I threw them all together in a bowl,added some oats and toss them with a little honey, sea salt and put them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake it in the oven at 400 F for about 20 min. Guess what? After I took it out of the oven, the family gobbled all of them up in 10 minutes!! Since then, I have been making these granola very often. It can be eaten as a snack or it’s great with milk or made into breakfast parfaits. I have also experimented with adding new food like flaxseed, coconut flakes and all sorts of dried fruits. That makes it fun for the family since they are always checking out what new food I have added into the granola.
