Bento #160 – Back to School Bento

Bento #160 - Back to school bento

Finally, the first bento of the new school year! I have to admit it was hard getting up slightly earlier to make the first bento after a 2 months break. But we made it and was even a little early for the first day of school. So for the first day of school, we have french toast, carrot sticks, pita chips, hummus and  grapes. The ABCs are cheese cut-outs and the 123s are fruit leather.

Hi, I just found your site and think that your bentos are super cute and creative!! I wish I was half as creative as you!! Question, I noticed that some of the foods that you pack are normally eaten hot or warm but you just use regular plastic containers to hold them. Do you have something that keeps the food warm or does your child just eat the food at room temp. or cold? Thanks for your help.

My child eats them at room temperature but I do pack an ice-pack in her insulated lunch bag just to keep it fresh. If the food needs to be warm, I will pack it in thermos.

Really cute! I planned/plan on doing the same later on. ^^ It’s not officially back to school without a themed bento.
