Super Mario Cake

Hello… yes, I am still around. Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a long 4 day holiday and decided to hold a garage sale with a couple of friends. Even though it turned out to be a very rainy weekend, I was really glad to be able to get rid of a lot of stuff especially baby stuff. Since it was a multi-family garage sales, I even managed to buy a couple of cake pans and cookie cutters for really cheap. More for my collection! :)

Anyway, here’s one more cake that I did last week. A Super Mario Cake for a 7 year old Wii Mario fan.

Super Mario Cake

Everything is edible except for Mario and Luigi. I knew that I was not going to have enough time to make the figures since I was busy with the garage sale, I decided to just buy a couple of figurines. The cake is a butter cake with strawberry buttercream while the tunnel is a chocolate mud cake.

Some details from the cake. Pardon me if I don’t know the exact names for the creatures. :) There’s Mario coins, Mario star, Pirahna Plant, Goomba, mushroom, clouds and hills. They were all made with gumpaste while the cake and tunnel were covered in marshmallow fondant.

Do you make these cakes and sell them? My son is turning 5 and totally loves Super MArio Bros.

Thanks,
Michele
