Taking a break from bento posts, here is another cake post as Lil’ C’s birthday celebration continues. Besides baking the cupcakes for school, I also baked a birthday cake for her birthday party. The birthday theme was Tinkerbell and I got my inspiration from the 2010 Wilton Yearbook with a little modification. Here’s the end result – a Tinkerbell Teapot Cake!!
The Tinkerbell Teapot was made with rice crispies, wrapped in marshmallow fondant and decorated with gum paste. The cake is a buttercake, frosted with buttercream and decorated with gum paste flowers and leaves.
I also colored the cake in Tinkerbell colors – pink, purple and green. Chocolate ganache was used to sandwich the cakes together.
In the end, Lil’ C loved the cake! The kids attacked the teapot with gusto and dismantled the teapot.
Updated: I bought the Tinkerbell figurine from Target but you can also get similar ones like these or these
at Amazon.
