Happy Mooncake Festival!!

October 2, 2009

Wishing all those who are celebrating a Happy Mooncake Festival!! I hope everyone is enjoying their mooncakes with a nice pot of tea. Like last year, my plan to make mooncakes have been thwarted by my lack of planning. I forgot to make salted eggs again!! It takes about 25 days to make the salted eggs. So by the time I realize it it the time to make mooncakes again, it is too late. Yeah, I know. I can make it without salted egg yolks but it is just not the same. I wish I can buy the egg yolks and the filling easily at the store just as in Malaysia. Maybe next year!

In the meantime, since I have many new readers who may not have heard of mooncakes, here are some that I made the previous years.
