Bento for Kids #60 – Umbrellas, just in case!

Bento #60 - Umbrellas, just in case!

This bento is totally befitting our weather this week. It is a wet, wet week here in the Pacific Northwest. If only the umbrellas were real, we would probably need it a lot this week. But did you know that if you use an umbrella here, you are automatically classified as a tourist or out-of-towner? Somehow locals do not use umbrella, a fact that I learned when we first moved here.
Anyway, back to the bento, it’s a simple bento of Spam maki, “apple umbrellas, & a homemade butter cupcake.

Hi! I hope you will approve my EC ad I just purchased.

Thanks for sharing this maki thing. My kids love maki. Now, to eat it with spam would be a double treat! Thanks, really. Quite inventive of you.

hi! I love your bento ideas. How do you keep your apples from going brown? My daughter (2 years old) loves apples but I can’t figure out a way to keep them from becoming brown in her bento lunch for school. Help?!

Hi Viviane, what I usually do is after I cut the apples, I will soak it for a few minutes in a bowl of water mix with salt. Or you can also sprinkle with lemon juice. Bot will keep the apple from browning. Hope that helps.
