Shiang Garden @ Richmond BC

It is always hard to decide on which restaurant to go to when we are in Richmond BC. There are just too many choices. That day we decided to try Shiang Garden on No. 3 Road. The restaurant looked really fancy with all their fancy elaborate decos.

According to the notice on the door, Shiang Garden opens for dinner at 5 pm. So that day we decided to have an early dinner because Lil’ C was really tired. We walked in at 5:30 pm to an empty restaurant which was a little wierd. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves for almost an hour! People did start trickling in after 6:30pm. I guess it’s either the Richmond people have late dinner or business is not that good. But it was starting to fill up by the time we left.

Anyway, back to the food. The first dish we ordered was the crab with salted egg yolk. Yummy!! Love this dish.

We ordered the pork in honey garlic sauce for Lil’ C. It tasted good but was a little too sticky for my liking. Too much honey, I guess.

I can’t remember the name of this dish but it was a house specialty. It was like braised beef. Pretty good.
