Fish on Plank & Kalbi Beef

Now that the weather is getting warmer, we’ve been using the grill a lot especially on the weekends.

Grilled Halibut on Cedar Plank

Just a simple grill fish which was sprinkled with some spices & then grilled on a plank. Was a little disappointed that the plank wasn’t giving out much flavor or maybe we are doing somthing wrong. Not sure. This is our first time grilling on a plank. Will have to try it out again!

I love Korean BBQ but it’s hard to go to the Korean restaurant for the BBQ with a toddler in tow. The fact that Korean BBQ is grilled on a hot plate right on the table top, it naturally peaks the interest of a curious toddler especially when the meat starts sizzling! So for now, we’ve decided to start cooking them at home instead. The meat can be bought pre-marinated or DIY with a bottled Kalbi sauce. We had ours with corn & portobella mushroom. Definitely comparable to the ones at the restaurant!

Did you soak the plank in water? You need to soak it at least 2 hours. You can also add some wine while soaking but I never tried it though.
