Toddler’s 2nd birthday is coming up in Nov. Even at this young age, she already knows what she wants for her birthday – an Elmo cake!! So . . . . . . an Elmo cupcake is born. Cute huh? Elmo’s fur is done in buttercream while his eyes, nose & mouth are done with marshmallow fondant. Actually this is my practice piece before attempting the actual cake. Hopefully, the actual cake will turn out nicely : p

You call this a practice piece? It’s fantastic. How do you get this effect and how much time on one cup cake to turn Elmo out?
dr ve thru: the hardest part was the face features ‘cos I had to make fondant, color & shape them. But I did that one day ahead. The fur part was actually pretty easy. I used the piping tip that’s normally use for piping grass & created the effect. It was fun though. : p
